I'm finally going to get going with my graphic novel idea from long ago. I'll put the info in this journal and begin doing art so you can see it.
Premise:Year: ????
In New York City in the bay between the mainland and the Statue of Liberty at the turning point of the year, the stroke of midnight on December 31st, a large doubled door standing three stories in height appeared, hovering above the water in the bay. No one knows where it came from, what it is or why it appeared. For a little over a month it was a top tourist attraction for the city, but as time passed and nothing about "The Door" changed, people became bored by it and ignored its presence. On the two month anniversary of the doors appearance, a boy named Ean, known for being his class' nerd and one of the most picked on boys in school, was on the run from a pack of his schools best known jocks and bullies. This kind of behavior was known to happen nearly every week. Taking a new route of escape, Ean finds himself at the bay where The Door was located. The area had since been abandoned since the day, when the tourists had stopped coming, The Door opened and stole away a young female resident. It was unknown if that incident was the only one or not. But, once out of harm's way from his pursuers, Ean makes his way toward home. But as soon as he steps out of hiding, The Door opens, pulling him inside. He awakens, finding himself in the world of Solstice: a world that was a combination of many. As Ean comes to find out, the one who ruled over Solstice was using his homeworld as a vessel and traveling the small threads that linked all worlds together in order to combine them with his own, and therefore expanding his rule. Earth was his next target. In order to stop this, the six Mages need to be found. A Mage is a mystical element that allows the world order to flow and also are the small ties that link all worlds together (and it's not the whole earth, wind, water stuff. That's been overdone).

Purpose: To keep Earth from being taken over by Solstice and thus protecting his mother: Eve.
Info: Ean is best known for being one of the brightest minds of his class, but with knowledge comes ridicule. Ean is often picked on my the more popular jocks and preps of his class and has gotten into more than one scuffle because of it. Though he does not lack physical strength, Ean is usually a pacifist unless it comes to defending someone he cares about. This best shows up when speaking about his mother Eve. Ean's father was killed by a pair of thieves who came into their apartment looking for anything they could take and hock for easy money. Though the criminals were thwarted do to a cop's passing by on his daily routine, the gunshot to Ean's father's gut was fatal. Upon his dying breath, Ean swore to his father that he would follow in his footsteps and protect those he cared for with his life. This oath is what drives Ean forward in Solstice.

Info: Celes is the first ally Ean makes on his journey through Solstice. As it turns out, Celes was the girl who was taken through The Door that had the news casts on Earth in a hype. Celes takes the role of making everyone happy, she hates it when her teammates are sad or depressed and does what she can to please everyone. Although a level 3 Mage, Celes doesn't know how to use her powers that well since she only obtained them once stepping through The Door. It doesn't help that she's a bit of a klutz. Her innocent mind also makes her seem a little dim in thought, but she's actually very bright.
Zeta L'Win:

Personality: Cold, quiet, hateful
Purpose: To separate herself from the Elves who ostracized her
Info: Zeta is a member of the Cursed Elf tribe. Cursed Elves are Elves with no magical abilities but are able to transform into some sort of creature. Because to the Elven populace becoming a lowly animal is disreputable, all those who are Cursed are driven away from the main cities and are forced to live in small villages among those who are also Cursed. Such treatment has driven Zeta to despise the Elven kind. Each Cursed bears a symbol like birthmark that marks them as Cursed, for Zeta is is just above her heart. Being Cursed, Zeta has the ability to become a wolf at will. She wants nothing more than to leave her world behind and live like a normal citizen on another world.

Info: Much about Jed remains a secret. What is known is that his right arm has been replaced with a cyber-kinetic type of material that has the ability to transform into a multitude of long and sort range weapons. Because Jed is so gentlemanly and polite towards his peers (especially the females) he has this royal air about him, but does not take the leadership role. He does, however, offer his advice very often to Ean when he deems it necessary. Jed also has a large crush on Zeta that he makes blatantly, and sometimes painfully, obvious.
Jade Owen:

Species: Human (Amorite)
Type: Warrior

Hair: Pink
Eyes: Green
Personality: Motherly, protective (sometimes overly), dependable
Purpose: To locate her daughter and husband
Info: Jade's homeworld was one of the first to be seized by Solstice, and when that took place, she was separated from her daughter and husband when the world went through the merging process. She has been unable to locate them for some time and has traveled around searching for them since that day. In her eyes, this group of stragglers she joins up with is her family and she will protect them. Some say that she views the younger members of the group as her surrogate children since her child was ripped away from her. This causes her to, on occasion, be a little too protective of them. Overall, Jade is the kind motherly figure you'd expect, but if she is angered, her fists are the last thing you'd want to see in battle.
Jezzenda Coringer:

Personality: Hyper, cheerful, a bit goofy
Purpose: To remove the blocked state her people are in
Info: Jezzie is a member of the Shifter's race, a race where people have the free ability to transform into an animal depending on which sub-race they are. The sub-races are Felis (feline), Renin (canine), Anser (birds), Cervi (deer) and Dermo (reptile). Though each race usually keeps separate, it is not uncommon to have them mix, and there by creating a new type. Most view this mixture of the bloods as a sort of contamination and harbor great prejudice against those who choose to do so, but not Jezzie. In fact, despite the threats of others, Jezzie openly admits that she has a crush on a certain Anser boy on her homeworld. But their relationship never came to be since her world was one of the first to be taken by Solstice and with this merger came a serious infliction to the Shifter race. This infliction was a stoppage in their ability to transform. Some members of the Shifter race were stuck in their animal forms, some their human forms, but others, like Jezzie, were caught in between transformation and now walk around as half animal half human. Jezzie, though used to her current form by now, still wants the ability to change freely returned to her. It's thought that the Anser boy she liked was trapped in animal form. Other than that, she is Celes's self appointed best friend.

Info: Next to nothing is known about X, not even his name. Everyone just called him X for lack of anything else. The only thing you know is what you see: he's a tiger-like beast with blue fire on his tail. No one knows why he is a member of the group, but he is a powerful ally.
Crow:

Purpose: ????
Info: Like X, almost nothing is known about Crow. When they found him he was a thief, which drove a wedge between him and Ean. He usually says nothing and his only possession other than his clothing is his crow companion named Oriun (or-ee-un), who is a ruffled bird with a scar over his left eye, rendering him blind in it, thus it's always closed. Crow doesn't agree or disagree with anything, he's just there.
These are the main characters and premise, I'll add the villains at a later date.
